Los Angeles: A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Los Angeles, where a 24-year-old woman, who was allegedly assaulted by her manager while working at a 7-Eleven store, has died after being taken off life support, following an incident that left her brain-dead. The deceased has been identified as Jessica McLaughlin.
The incident occurred on 24 June, when her unidentified female manager “violently and senselessly attacked" McLaughlin after the two got into an altercation at around 2pm. During the assault, the manager reportedly pulled McLaughlin’s hair and sat on her upper body, exerting her full weight and leaving McLaughlin breathless. Police are currently searching for the manager, who is absconding.
She was taken to Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital and was declared brain-dead due to a lack of oxygen. Her family later decided to take her off life support. She died Wednesday.
Her collegues tried to intervene and save her from the assault, but were injured in the process. Not just this, following the assault, it is also alleged that the accused tried to delete the CCTV footage from the store’s back office.
