Tehran: Iran on Friday shared a video of an alleged attack on a United States military base in Qatar last month. Iran claimed to have destroyed a key US communications facility in the attack. Notably, Iran carried out the alleged attack during the conflict with Israel.

The video was shared by the Iranian Embassy in India. The video shows satellite images of before and after the attack. "Satellite images show that #Iran has taken out the US military's primary Communications Radome in #Qatar The second Radome is located in Kuwait These Radomes provide the US military with crucial communications capabilities in the Middle East," the Iranian embassy posted.

A report by Iran International cited satellite imagery pointing towards possible damage to the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar in the Iranian strikes on June 23. As per Iran International, the images captured by private satellite firm Satellogic on June 24 show damage to a radome, reported The Times of India.

Notably, a radome is an advanced geodesic structure where sensitive communications equipment is kept. The US base reportedly targeted by Iran is located at the heart of Al Udeid Air Base. It is the largest US military base in the Middle East. It also served as the forward headquarters of the US Central Command.

However, the US has not yet responded to Iran International's report. Iran reportedly attacked the US base a day after Washington hit its three nuclear sites, including Fordow.

However, the US did not retaliate after Iran's attack on its airbase in Qatar. US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran gave notice before launching the attack. He also claimed that Iran mentioned the exact timing of the attack, and Tehran's all missiles were intercepted.
