Indian doctors fitted artificial limbs for 100 disabled Afghan citizens at a ‘Jaipur Foot’ prosthetic limb camp in Kabul, as part of India’s ongoing humanitarian support to Afghanistan. An X user named Hafiz Umari shared a video of a beneficiary running, climbing onto a bench, and squatting to express his joy after receiving the prosthetic limb.
Sharing the video, Hafiz expressed gratitude towards the Indian doctors, saying, “May the relations between India and Afghanistan remain everlasting and grow stronger! Thanks to the efforts of Youth Minister Dr. Sahib Ahrar and other officials, 100 disabled Afghan citizens in Kabul received artificial limbs provided by Indian doctors.”
Urging Afghan officials to extend this programme further so more citizens could benefit, he added:
“This initiative was short-term and appears to have concluded. Given that a large number of our citizens are disabled and in urgent need of prosthetic limbs, we urge the authorities to engage with the Indian government and extend this programme further. This will ensure that our disabled compatriots, who currently lack access to quality artificial limbs, can also benefit.”
