New Delhi: At least 14 members of the Pakistani army lost their lives in two distinct attacks in Balochistan, highlighting the escalating insurgency in the troubled region. In the initial event, a military convoy in the Mach's Shorkand area was struck by a remote-controlled IED attack. The massive blast is said to have claimed the lives of all 12 soldiers on board, including two Special Operations leaders.

On the same day, another event happened in the Kulag Tigran region of Kech district, where a comparable assault occurred. BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch released a statement claiming responsibility for both assaults and criticized the Pakistani army, describing it as a mercenary entity. The recent attacks highlight the ongoing and entrenched conflict in Balochistan, where separatist factions have historically blamed the Pakistani government for marginalisation, economic exploitation, and widespread human rights abuses.

The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) took responsibility for an IED assault in Kachhi district of Balochistan, leading to the fatalities of fourteen soldiers from the Pakistan Army, among them a Special Operations Commander. After the assault, the Pakistan Army commenced a cleanup operation in the region. This event took place during increased tensions, one day following India's strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan-administered land.

According to the video published by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), fourteen soldiers from the Pakistan Army allegedly lost their lives in Balochistan’s Kachhi district due to their vehicle being targeted by an improvised explosive device (IED). An official statement indicates that the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has taken responsibility for the assault.

BLA Attacks Pakistan Army Convoy in Kachhi "Terrorists affiliated with the Balochistan Liberation Army attacked a security forces vehicle using an improvised explosive device in the Mach area, Kachhi district," a Pakistan Army statement quoted by news agency PTI stated.

The blast obliterated the military vehicle and claimed the lives of all 14 soldiers inside. As per news agency ANI, the deceased include Special Operations Commander Tariq Imran and Subedar Umar Farooq.

After the incident, the Pakistan Army announced it was carrying out a sanitization operation in the region to remove any remaining militants. This attack occurs just days after Pakistan's security forces eliminated 10 terrorists in Balochistan during two different incidents in the Kech and Ziarat districts. Officials stated that the murders were part of a broader offensive against extremist organizations in the region.
