Retired German Circus Performer Owns 8-Foot-Long Alligator As Pet, Fearlessly Swims And Cuddles With It; WATCH VIDEO

A German man who used to be a circus performer now owns and keeps a company of a giant 8-foot-long American alligator at his home. The alligator is also said to have performed in the circus for more than 30 years. A report by Reuters said that Krystian Kaulis grew up with the alligator, and the wild reptile now lives with his family in a customized pool.

The alligator, known as Frau Meyer, lives with Kaulis family in a giant pool. The pool is a heated container and also has thermal lighting to create adaptive conditions for the reptile. The alligator is often found swimming and sunbathing with its friend and owner, Krystian.

The Alligator Is Like Big Sister To Me- Krystian

In a report published by Reuters, Krystian said that he was introduced to Meyer in his childhood, and it's like a big sister to him. Krystian said, "As of in the past when other children were playing with teddy bear, I was always with Frau Meyer. Meyer was my cuddly companion, my conversation partner, my buddy, my buddy for doing homework. My parents always watched me, kept an eye on me."

"I always trust her. She is like big sister to us. She is a wild animal, an aligator, no question about it but I trust her 100%. She knows what I am doing, nothing will happen to her. I respect her boundaries and I think that's very important in this matter.

Unique Diet Of The Alligator

Reportedly, Krystian's father brought Meyer when it was 2-year-old, and used to perform in the circus together. The alligator nearly weights around 100 KG and needs only one meal a week. Its meal includes chicken legs, beef, fish, or a rat.
