In a shocking incident, Fairfax county police spotted a 6-foot-long wild alligator strolling outside a motel room in Fairfax County, Virginia. The terrifying sighting of a wild animal in a public place made calls to local law enforcement, who confirmed the presence of the reptile near the building entrance.
Fairfax county police shared a video of the unusual incident in which the alligator can be seen strolling outside the motel room and lobby. One of the officers who recorded the video can be heard saying in surprise, "Damn! That is an alligator! There is actually an alligator outside the hotel." While trying to measure the size of the alligator officer said, "if I lay besides it, the alligator would be nearly 6 feet long.
The incident soon grabbed attention of the locals and guests in the motel. In the video even the officer can be seen asking someone nearby to bring their dog inside for safety.

According to a report by The New York Times, the alligator was escaped during its transport from its owner during a stop at a rest area. The Animal was getting transported from New York to a zoo in North Carolina. Meanwhile, a small diversion of owner's attention costed a terrifying incident and the animal reahced the doors of Virginia Motel.
The owner might have to face legal proceedings as Virginia state law doesn't allow to let escape an exotic reptile or to knowingly permit it to roam freely. Furthermore, Fairfax County as well prohibits the ownership of exotic animals, except licensed exhibitions or special events & elephant rides.
As per the report no one was harmed in this incident and the animal has been reunited with its owner.
