Despite retiring from international cricket over four years ago, Mahendra Singh Dhoni remains in the news for all his activities off the field. In one of the latest videos surfaced on social media, Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in August 2020, was seen dancing on a Pahadi song named 'Gulabi Sharara'.
The 42-year-old retired as one of the most popular cricketers in the world, garnering respect from the cricketing fraternity for his cricketing nous. He remains the only captain in international cricket to win all three ICC trophies. The Ranchi-born cricketer retired from international cricket after featuring in 90 Tests, 350 ODIs and 98 T20Is. However, he continues to play in the IPL and is part of the Chennai Super Kings.

Meanwhile, the 42-year-old qualified to play in the IPL as an uncapped player as he last played an international fixture five months ago. Hence, the Yellow Army decided to retain him for ₹4 crore.
With 264 matches in the IPL since its inception in 2008, Dhoni holds the record for most appearances. Dhoni is also the joint-most successful captain in IPL history alongside Rohit Sharma winning five titles. In 264 games, the keeper-batter has amassed 5243 runs at 39.12 alongside a decent strike rate of 137.12.
The Super Kings had failed to reach the playoffs in the 2024 edition.
