Team India seamer Akash Deep and England seamer were involved in a heated exchange in the closing minutes of day four of the third Test at the Lord's Cricket Ground. With Carse threatening to throw the ball at the stumps after Akash Deep's forward block, the latter dared the England cricketer to do it.

The incident occurred in the 17th over of the innings as Carse had his tails up after getting the better of Karun Nair and Shubman Gill to bring England back in the game. With England being at the receiving end after tensions boiled over between the two sides, Ben Stokes and co. decided to give it back to India.
