The incident happened in the 59th over of Somerset’s innings, when the team was at 172/4. A large number of seagulls landed on one side of the ground, and some flew just above the players. Because of this, the umpires had to stop the game for a short while.

The birds eventually flew away or were guided off the field, and play continued. Somerset finished the day at 275/6 after 96 overs. They will look to add more runs, while Nottinghamshire will aim to take the remaining four wickets quickly.
