Former Indian batter Shikhar Dhawan recently shared a funny and heartwarming story about his first meeting with MS Dhoni back in 2010. In his new book, 'The One: Cricket, My Life and More', Dhawan reveals that when he first met Dhoni after getting selected for Team India, he was a bit nervous but excited too. Trying to make a fun first impression, Dhawan told Dhoni, "I want to play for India, and I want to make you a Bollywood hero!"

Dhoni, known for his cool nature and sense of humor, laughed out loud at Dhawan’s comment. That one moment helped Dhawan relax, and it also showed the friendly and easygoing nature of the Indian team at that time.

Dhawan also mentioned that during those days, players were not under as much pressure from social media. It was easier to be yourself, joke around, and build close friendships in the team.

Though Dhawan didn’t perform well in his debut match, this funny memory with Dhoni stayed close to his heart. It showed how welcoming and supportive Dhoni was as a captain.

This story reminds fans that behind the serious matches and big crowds, the Indian team also shares fun, friendship, and laughter, making cricket even more special.

Team India’s training session ahead of the 2nd Test against England at Edgbaston, Birmingham, witnessed a light-hearted and amusing moment that captured the spirit of camaraderie in the camp. Young pacers Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep were seen engaging in playful wrestling with India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel, bringing smiles all around during the intense practice routine.

The scene unfolded during a short break in the training session. Arshdeep, known for his fun-loving personality, initiated the mischief on the tall South African bowling coach. Akash Deep quickly joined in as both young bowlers attempted to pin down the former Proteas speedster. Morkel, towering over the duo and with years of experience on his side, responded sportingly, laughing and mock-wrestling the youngsters in return.

The banter not only lightened the atmosphere but also highlighted the positive team environment under the current management. Morkel, who has been mentoring India’s fast bowlers with a blend of discipline and encouragement, took the jest in good spirit, earning further respect from the squad.

As India prepares to take on England at Birmingham, it’s clear that while the players are working hard on strategy and skills, they are also keeping the spirits high with a bit of wrestling and a lot of bonding.
