Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has taken matters into his own hands to show appreciation for friends and family of his Manchester United backroom staff by personally funding their trip to next week’s Europa League final in Bilbao amid a backdrop of financial cuts and internal discontent at the club.
According to ESPN report, Amorim, who took charge at Old Trafford last November, has reportedly set to pay out of pocket for 30 staff members and their families to attend the May 21 final against Tottenham Hotspur after the club refused to provide free tickets or travel assistance.

As per the report, Manchester United informed staff including coaches, physios, and low-wage support personnel that they would need to purchase tickets themselves if they wanted to attend the final at Estadio San Mamés. Even players were only given two tickets each, with no travel coverage for their families.
The club is in the middle of a sweeping cost-cutting campaign that includes plans to cut up to 200 jobs, shut down the staff canteen, and end complimentary meals. While players at Carrington still receive full lunches, staff are now limited to soup and bread. Manchester United’s belt-tightening measures follow five consecutive years of financial losses.

Amorin, Manchester United eye Europen glory
Both United and Tottenham view the Europa League final as a last chance to salvage something from a dismal campaign. United have not suffered defeat in Europe's second tier competition this season, winning nine and drawing five of their 14 fixtures across normal time. After finishing third in the league phase, United have since progressed past Real Sociedad, Lyon and Athletic Club to reach the final.
