Arriving at the ground, Shami began his warm-up exercises and made himself comfortable. After the team huddle, he started bowling in the nets to energize himself. The atmosphere during the session was relaxed, and the players seemed to be in good spirits, enjoying each other's company.

Shami is making his comeback after a year due to injury and is expected to play a crucial role in leading the bowling attack, especially in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.

With the Champions Trophy on the horizon, Shami is determined to give his best after getting added in the squad. He also shared a post on Instagram, showing images from the net session with the caption, “All set. Ready to make you all proud once again. Keep your love and support.”

India will be facing England in a five-match T20I series starting on January 22 in Kolkata. Shami's last appearance for India was in the 2023 ICC Men's ODI World Cup, where he was the highest wicket-taker for the team.
