India openers Rohit Sharma, Subhman Gill kick off the innings for India
After the end of 10 overs, India were 52-0. Openers Rohit Sharma and Shubhan Gill looked in good touch as they made the most of the first powerplay by dealing mostly in boundaries and sixes. The Kiwi bowlers hardly troubled the Indian batsman.
OUT! Rohit dismissed 34 (38). Rohit once again throws it away after all the hard work. The India captain looks to loft a Blair Tickner's scrambled seam full delivery but plays a bit early as he holds out to mid-on Darly Mitchell at mid-on. India 60-1
OUT! Virat Kohli goes 8 (10). Huge wicket for Kiwis. Mitchell Santner cleans up Kohli. The centurion of the last match stays back to block and misses it. Kohli stands in shock. India 88-2
OUT! In-form batsman Ishan Kishan perishes. A short angled delivery by Tom Latham across the left-hander and it takes an edge to the keeper. India 110-3
OUT! Suryakumar Yadav gone. Crucial partnership of 65 runs broken. A fullish delivery by Daryl Mitchell hold on to the pitch and Suryakumar Yadav drives it a bit early. Santner dives forward to complete the catch. India 175-4
And that's a sublime century by Shubhman Gill. Despite wickets falling around him, The opener kept his calm to score an 87-ball 100 with 14 boundaries and 2 sixes. Gill has scored 5 fifties and 3 centuries in his last 16 ODIs.
Wicket: Mitchell to Hardik Pandya, out Bowled!! Hardik Pandya b Mitchell 28(38) [4s-3]
Last 10 overs of play, India losing Pandya here could hamper a strong finish. It will be key that Shubman Gill carries this innings till the end. India 251/5 Shubman Gill 134 (113) Washinton Sundar 1 (1)
Shubman Gill races past 150 in 122 balls. India look to finish strong.
Last three overs. Kuldeep Yadav's job will be to give maximum strike to Shubman Gill as India looks to post a big total.
Shumban Gill smashes maiden double century with three consecutive sixes in just 145 balls. Becomes 5th Indian batsman
End of innings, India set New Zealand target of 350 to chase. Shubman Gill led the Indian innings crafting a brilliant double century in just 145 balls.
Here we go start of the second innings. New Zealand beging massive run chase
Can the Kiwis provide that one player that can take the game by the scruff like Shubman Gill did?
Siraj to Conway, out Caught by Kuldeep Yadav!! Top edgeeeee, taken very well at fine leg. Mohammed Siraj - what a gem he has turned out be for India in ODIs. He has taken the most wickets in the first powerplay Conway c 10(16)
End of powerplay, New Zealand 43/1 Finn Allen 17 (27) Henry Nicholls 10 (17)
Thakur to Finn Allen, out Caught by (sub)Shahbaz Ahmed!! In the airrrr, taken at deep mid-wicket. The dangerous Finn Allen is gone. New Zealand 70/2 Henry Nicholls 14 (28) Daryl Mitchell 2 (3)
Kuldeep Yadav to Mitchell, out Lbw!! Mitchell has been adjudged lbw. He has a word with his batting partner and sends it upstairs. Gets beaten on the inside edge and is rapped on the front leg adjacent to the sticks. Clearly no bat. Over to ball-tracking and it's three reds
Shami to Glenn Phillips, out Bowled 11(20). New Zealand have now lost half their side.
Half Century: Fifty with a six for Michael Bracewell. Make no mistake, NZ are still way away from having any chance in this game but this is a spirited knock. Can they stage a late charge?
Century: Michael Bracewell bring up century in 57 balls. Kiwis might just be in this if the the destructive batsman hangs on at the crease.
Michael Bracewell , Mitchel Santner bring up 150 run partnership in 99 balls.
Siraj to Santner, out Caught by Suryakumar Yadav!! Siraj has finally broken the partnership! Santner c Suryakumar Yadav b Siraj 57(45)
Wicket: Siraj to Shipley, out Bowled!! Knocks him over! Siraj with a magical over! Back to back wickets halts late Kiwi onslaught
Shardul has done it! He has Bracewell plumb LBW. The Kiwi will review, of course, but this looks dead plumb. Unless there is bat and there isn't any. Flat Line on UltraEdge and it has to be Three Reds. It is!
