England keeper-batter and captain Jos Buttler has won the toss and has opted to field first in the 2023 World Cup clash against India at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow on Sunday. The Men in Blue have gone ahead with an unchanged playing XI as they hope to put their one foot in the semi-final.

While reports ahead of the fixture suggested that Ravichandran Ashwin could play against England, Team India haven't made included him and have gone with the one that beat New Zealand. As the only unbeaten side in the tournament, the Men in Blue will want to continue that run against England.

England skipper Jos Buttler also stated that he is playing the same team, but wants to put on a better performance than what they have in the past 4 matches. A loss in Lucknow might in all likelihood mean that the defending champions will finish the 2023 World Cup at the bottom of the table.

Playing XI of both India and England:

India playing XI: Rohit Sharma(c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul(w), Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj.

England playing XI: Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler(w/c), Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, David Willey, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood.
