Sai Sudharsan did not have a memorable debut for Team India in the ongoing first Test match against England in Leeds. The GT star departed for a four-ball duck in the first innings. Following the duck he became the first India batter in 15 years to register a duck in his debut Test innings. Wriddhiman Saha was the last batter who registered the unwanted record against South Africa in Nagpur. After that, R Ashwin and Umesh Yadav have done the same, but they weren’t recognised as batters.
In the second innings, he fared a little better, having scored 30 off 48 balls. The left-hander was dismissed by Ben Stokes in both innings.
Before coming in to bat in the second innings broadcaster's camera captured Sudarshan preparing himself before coming into bat. He looked at the ball and imagined the pitch, reflecting his mental readiness. Then he also wrote something in a notebook which was similar to Rahul Dravid’s preparations.
