Pune-Solapur Road witnessed severe waterlogging and flooding near Patas, causing major inconvenience to commuters due to heavy rainfall in the region.

A commuter took to social media to highlight the trouble faced by travelers, sharing visuals of the highway submerged in water. In the video, some commuters could be seen stranded on the road divider while others tried to navigate the flooded stretch in their vehicles.

This incident comes amidst widespread rainfall affecting several parts of Maharashtra, including Pune, Satara, and surrounding regions. Notably, even the Pune-Satara Highway developed a crack earlier this week as a result of the intense rain, raising concerns over road safety and infrastructure resilience during the monsoon season.

Additionally, continuous heavy rainfall over the past four days has led to severe water accumulation in several parts of Daund taluka, particularly at Swami Chincholi on the Pune-Solapur highway.

On Sunday, an Innova car traveling along the highway was swept away by strong water currents caused by the flooding. Fortunately, there was no loss of life reported in the incident.

Local authorities are urging commuters to exercise caution while traveling through low-lying areas and waterlogged stretches as rainfall continues across the region.
