Two Cylinder Blasts Rock Pune; Five Injured |
Two separate LPG cylinder explosions in Pune on Wednesday morning left five people injured, including a couple and their two children. In the first incident, a gas leak triggered a fire in a house near the Gurudwara in Aundh village, injuring one person who was later hospitalized. In another incident in Wadkar Mala, a gas leak led to a powerful blast, seriously injuring a family of four.
Both fires were brought under control by the fire brigade. Authorities are investigating the causes of the explosions, which have raised fresh concerns about household gas safety.
An official stated that the family resided in a small room in the Wadkar Mala area. According to preliminary findings, the explosion was likely caused by a gas leak. Senior Inspector Mansingh Patil of Kalepadal police station said the stove knob was found to be loose, and when the woman attempted to light the stove with a lighter in the morning, it sparked the blast.
