A speeding car hit several people on the service road near Kala Ganpati temple in the Cidco N-1 area on Friday around 9 a.m. The temple’s security guard, Gunaji Laxmanrao Shewale (70), died in the accident, while four others sustained serious injuries.
According to reports, the car driver, Prashant Eknath Magar (30), was returning home in his Swift car (MH20 HH 0746) after playing tennis at the Divisional Sports Complex in the Garkheda area. While driving at high speed, he lost control near the service road by Kala Ganpati temple and rammed into a group of people standing nearby.

The injured have been identified as Manish Vikas Samadhane (40), Vikas Samadhane (50), Ravindra Bhagwantrao Chaube (65), and Shrikant Prabhakar Rodekar (60). All of them were rushed to the District Civil Hospital in Chikalthana, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Upon receiving information, Cidco MIDC police reached the scene and took the driver, Prashant Magar, into custody. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
