Following the statewide Jan-Akrosh agitation called by Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, party members protested at Kranti Chowk in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Monday. Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders Chandrakant Khaire, Ambadas Danve and others demanded that “the corrupted and tainted ministers from the BJP-led Mahayuti government be removed.”

Similar protests were seen across the state where agitators protested against the Mahayuti government’s ‘scam-tainted ministers’ and demanded that they should be removed from the cabinet immediately.

A street play was organised to showcase the wrongdoing of the ministers like slapping the canteen manager, showcasing bar and showering money and playing rummy on mobile phone in the house.

The ministers on radar of the agitators were minister of state for revenue Yogesh Kadam, Education minister Dadaji Bhuse, Jaykumar Gore, Nitesh Rane, Sanjay Rathod, Bharat Gogawale, Sanjay Shirsat, Manikrao Kokate, Sanjay Gaikwad and others.

This state-wide protests comes in the wake of several ministers of the ruling government caught under controversy recently. Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate was found playing Junglee Rummy, an online card game, on his phone in the Legislative Assembly. After Nationalist Congress Party (SP) leader Rohit Pawar had put his video on social media, the minister faced severe criticism and was later given a Sports portfolio.

A similar incident was criticised when MLA Sanjay from Buldhana thrashed a canteen worker in Mumbai’s MLA hostel over poor food quality. While the two-term legislator defended his position being right, he was heavily criticised and even a ‘lungi-baniyan’ protest was staged outside the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
