As summer intensifies, incidents of vehicles catching fire are on the rise, with visuals going viral almost every other day. In one such incident, a two-wheeler motorcycle suddenly caught fire at Patan Tikatana in Umbraj, Taluka Karad, on Monday, April 14, around 4:30 PM.
The motorcyclist had a close shave as the two-wheeler burnt to ashes.
At this time, the people present, as well as the Sandeep Fire Service of Satara, tried to extinguish the fire on the motorcycle. Fortunately, there were no casualties. As Monday was the weekly market day in Umbraj, there was a crowd of citizens at the scene.
Fire in monday market
Since it was Monday, the weekly market day, there was a crowd of citizens who had come to Patan Tikatana around noon to shop. At around 4:30 PM, the motorcycle going to the market from Charegaon to Umbraj came to the subway at Patan Tikatana when the motorcycle suddenly caught fire. Upon realizing the fire, the motorcyclist abandoned the motorcycle and fled. At this time, local citizens tried to extinguish the fire with the help of water. However, the fire quickly spread.
In the meantime, there was a traffic jam on the service road. In this, the Sandeep Fire Service vehicle going from Satara to Patan was stuck in the traffic jam.
As soon as the Umbraj police received information about the incident, the police immediately rushed to the spot and restored the traffic.
