A 25-year-old man from Bhosari has been arrested and booked by Ravet police for allegedly being responsible for his business partner’s death, which occurred on April 3 near the Akurdi-Dehu Road railway tracks.
As per the report by ToI, the two men jointly ran a small food outlet and had been arguing about dividing profits and issues related to a female acquaintance.
Meanwhile, during one such argument, police said, the 25-year-old threatened to take his own life and walked toward the railway tracks. When his business partner tried to stop him, he was struck by a passing train.
The suspect managed to step away safely but did not assist his injured friend. Instead of helping or calling for medical aid, he left the scene. Locals later rushed the injured man to the hospital, where he died from his wounds.
Police have filed a case against the suspect under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). The victim’s father, a farmer from Baramati, submitted a formal complaint on Monday.
