Rajasthan Royals will don an all-pink jersey during their home game against the Mumbai Indians at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 1st, 2025, Thursday. The special jersey is part of the franchise's Pink Promise Campaign to encourage women's empowerment in the rural region of India and the Royals will hope to carry their momentum from winning the previous game.
Before 2024 edition of the IPL, the jersey was launched by former Sri Lanka cricketer Kumar Sangakkara and Rajasthan’s sports minister Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. While Sangakkara no longer holds the coaching role with the Royals, he is involved in their setup as their director.
Meanwhile, the Royals will chip in ₹100 for every ticket purchased ahead of the match against the Mumbai Indians to propel the women-led rural transformation in Rajasthan. Moreover, all the revenue from the sales will go to the Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF) to support its social impact activities. Additionally, every six hit by either of the team will go RRF and Rajasthan lighting up six houses in the Sambhar region, a town in the state, with solar power.
Rajasthan Royals to face the Mumbai Indians for the first time in IPL 2025
Meanwhile, the two sides will face one another for the first time this year. The Royals, broke their long-standing losing streak with a massive eight-wicket victory over the Gujarat Titans, headlined by Vaibhav Suryavanshi's 38-ball 101. It helped the Royals chase down 210 with 25 balls to spare.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians started their campaign with two consecutive defeats but are now on a five-game winning streak. The five-time champions are known for being quite dangerous in the second half of the season and are unlikely to miss out on playoff in such a form.
