As per the prediction by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Pune experienced a thunderstorm that brought severe thunder, strong winds, and lightning, disrupting normal life on Thursday on second consecutive day. Even Tuesday saw very light showers in few parts of the city.
Many parts of the city like Sinhagad Road, Aundh, Pashan, Khadakwasla Hinjawadi, Wakad, Balewadi saw rainfall.
The IMD had also issued rainfall alert for the city and mentioned that this trend will continue for seven days.
Commuters, including office workers and college students, found themselves stranded due to the sudden downpour while they were on their way home.
As soon as the rain intensified, Punekars flooded social media with visuals of the rain from Hinjawadi, Shivajinagar, Kharadi, Katraj, among other areas.
