An X (formerly Twitter) user shared the video and wrote, "Welcome to Pune 'Smart' city. A place where no traffic rules are followed and things like wrong-side driving, triple-seat riding, and breaking traffic signals are normalised without any penalties. Location - KK Market Chowk, Katraj."
Meanwhile, netizens slammed the traffic management in the city and demanded strict penalties for the violations.
"Same situation everywhere in Pune. If you stop at a red light, people behind you honk as if you've committed a crime. Absolute lawlessness in terms of traffic in Pune. The city has gone to the dogs, unfortunately, and there's no coming back," a user commented.
"Pune is worse than villages. Went to Gurgaon and they have much better driving sense than Pune village. Yes, even the cow belt and the north have better driving sense than Pune," another user stated.
"Unless strict zero-tolerance fines on violations are enforced, nothing will change. Fine, fine, fine until it is fine. Police must enhance monitoring and go after every single violator—big, small, everything and everyone. To clean up this mess, extraordinary intent and actions are required," a third user suggested.
