Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar visited the injured people at Pawana Hospital after the tragic bridge collapse on the Indrayani River in Kundamala. He met with the victims who were hurt in the accident and asked about their health and treatment.

Hospital staff informed the Deputy CM that all the injured citizens were receiving proper medical care and treatment. Medicines were being given on time, and the patients were being looked after well. Ajit Pawar showed concern for the injured and spoke to their families.

4 Dead, 51 Rescued After Tragic Incident on June 15

On Sunday, June 15, a tragic incident occurred at Kundmala in the Maval area near Talegaon Dabhade in Pune, where an old bridge built over the Indrayani River suddenly collapsed. The location is a well-known tourist spot, and many people were present at the time of the incident.

A total of 55 people fell into the river due to the collapse. Out of them, 51 were successfully rescued. Unfortunately, four people lost their lives, and their bodies have been identified. Earlier reports feared that 25 to 30 people may have drowned, but the final figures confirmed four fatalities.

Local police, disaster response teams, and villagers quickly reached the site to begin rescue operations. Efforts were made under difficult conditions, as heavy rainfall over the previous two days had caused the river’s water level to rise, making rescue work more challenging.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who also serves as the guardian minister of Pune district, has directed the district administration to carry out a detailed investigation into the collapse of the Kundmala bridge over the Indrayani River. The tragic incident resulted in the deaths of four people and injuries to 51 others. Pawar stated that strict action would be taken against anyone found responsible, especially if negligence is proven during the probe.
