NCP-SP Working President Supriya Sule on Thursday urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to immediately take cognisance of the deteriorating civic facilities in the Hinjawadi IT Park in Pune and urgently convene a joint meeting of all concerned authorities, including the Pune District Collector, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporations, Police, Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), Metro, and the Public Works Department (PWD) in the presence of local elected representatives.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Baramati MP wrote, “In the Rajiv Gandhi IT Park, Hinjawadi, incidents of waterlogging during the monsoon have been occurring repeatedly. Along with this, citizens and IT companies are facing several challenges related to traffic, roads, electricity, and other basic infrastructure. This is one of the most important IT parks, and high-quality and sustainable infrastructure must be provided. Long-term and permanent solutions must be implemented to address the infrastructure problems of Hinjawadi and surrounding areas at the earliest.”

Last week, Sule wrote a letter to Fadnavis demanding an independent governance authority for Hinjawadi.
“There is a significant delay in resolving infrastructure-related issues in the areas of Rajiv Gandhi IT Park, Hinjawadi, Maan and Marunji. Citizens are compelled to follow up with multiple agencies, resulting in considerable loss of time and mental distress. To avoid this, there is an urgent need to establish an independent authority encompassing Rajiv Gandhi IT Park, Hinjawadi, Maan, Marunji and adjoining areas. A competent officer should be appointed to head this authority. This will greatly ease the process for citizens to raise and resolve their grievances in a timely manner,” she said on X.
