Car Overturns Four Times In Crash On Pune-Bengaluru Highway; Pimpri-Chinchwad Woman Killed | Sourced
A woman from Pimpri-Chinchwad died in an accident on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway near Shendre village in Satara taluka, officials said on Friday. The accident took place on Thursday morning, and the deceased woman has been identified as Parumita Devgariya (30), they added.
According to the police, Sashimkumar Devgariya (35), along with his wife Parumita, was going to his brother's place in Bengaluru in a car. After reaching Shendre village, an unknown vehicle hit their car from behind. As a result, their car overturned four times and hit the divider.
The accident was so terrible that the car's engine broke off and was thrown onto the road. At the same time, a container coming from behind lost control and hit the divider. Three other tempos also hit each other. However, no one was injured in that collision. Only the driver of the car, Sashimkumar, was injured, while his wife, Parumita, died on the spot.
Traffic on the highway was disrupted for some time after the accident. However, Borgaon Police immediately reached the spot and restored traffic. A case has been registered with the Borgaon Police.
