Thane News: Woman Succumbs To Burn Injuries After Nightwear Catches Fire From Diya During Prayers In Dombivli
The incident took place at Sai Siddhi Apartment in Pisavli, Dombivli, when the deceased was offering prayers and lighting a diya, which she later placed on the other side of the house.

Dombivali: A 48-year-old woman died due to burn injuries after lighting a diya at her home while offering prayers to God in Dombivli on April 26. The deceased has been identified as Archana Dharmendra Kumar (48), who lived with her husband and children in Pisavli village, Dombivli. The Manpada police have launched an Accidental Death Report (ADR).
The incident took place at Sai Siddhi Apartment in Pisavli, Dombivli, when the deceased was offering prayers and lighting a diya, which she later placed on the other side of the house. The flame from the diya caught her nightwear, causing it to ignite and spread to her clothes.
She suffered serious injuries and was later taken to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead during treatment on April 27. Following this, an ADR was filed at the police station.
The police said the body was handed over to the family members for final rites after a post-mortem was performed. Vijay Kadbane, Senior Police Inspector of Manpada Police Station, said, "She suffered 75 percent burn injuries. She succumbed to her injuries. We are carrying out further investigation into the matter."
