According to the police, around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, a 53-year-old woman, V. Crasta, suddenly jumped into the sea from the Bandstand in Bandra West. Sainath Devde, a police officer who was patrolling the area at the time, witnessed the incident and immediately jumped into the sea after her. He managed to swim to her and pull her out of the water.

Bandra Police rescued a woman who attempted to commit suicide by jumping into the sea at Bandstand, Bandra, on Wednesday. She allegedly jumped into the sea due to depression. The woman is currently in stable condition and has been handed over to her family.

According to the police, around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, a 53-year-old woman, V. Crasta, suddenly jumped into the sea from the Bandstand in Bandra West. Sainath Devde, a police officer who was patrolling the area at the time, witnessed the incident and immediately jumped into the sea after her. He managed to swim to her and pull her out of the water.

The woman was unconscious and was rushed in a police van to Bhabha Hospital in Bandra West for treatment. Her condition is now stable, and she has been reunited with her family. Police stated that she had jumped into the sea due to ongoing mental health issues.

Officer Sainath Devde is being praised for his prompt and courageous action. The woman, a resident of Saint Baptist Road in Bandra West, has reportedly been suffering from depression for the past 20 years and has been undergoing treatment.

To prevent such incidents in the future, Bandra Police have increased their presence at Bandstand beach. A team of five personnel now patrols the area day and night. Police contacted the woman’s relatives, who have not expressed suspicion toward anyone and have not filed any complaint.
