Navi Mumbai Tragedy: Teen Critically Injured After Overspeeding Mercedes Flips Over Palm Beach Road Divider

A high-speed Mercedes crashed on Palm Beach Road on the weekend hours of Monday, seriously injuring one. The car lost control and flipped over the median, leaving one person seriously injured. The incident took place around 2:00 a.m., following which the officials from Nerul police station, reached the spot.

Navi Mumbai: A high-speed Mercedes crashed on Palm Beach Road on the weekend hours of Monday, seriously injuring one. The car lost control and flipped over the median, leaving one person seriously injured. The incident took place around 2:00 a.m., following which the officials from Nerul police station, reached the spot.

Seawoods Teen Behind the Wheel; Friend Injured

According to police officials, the Mercedes (MH 02 FN 1206) was being driven at high speed by Mohammed Salman Kamarunroha Shaikh (20), a resident of Seawoods, Nerul, accompanied by his friend Mohammed Sufiyan Shaikh (19).

While traveling on Palm Beach Road, the driver reportedly lost control of the steering, causing the car to crash through the divider and flip from the Vashi-bound lane into the Belapur-bound lane.

Passenger in Critical Condition at Apollo Hospital

Mohammed Salman Shaikh sustained minor injuries, while Sufiyan Shaikh suffered serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Apollo Hospital in Nerul.

Police File Case for Negligent, Reckless Driving

"No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in the crash. Following the accident, we registered a case against Salman Shaikh for negligent and reckless driving," senior police inspector Brahmananda Naikwadi from Nerul police station said.
