The municipal administration is taking significant steps to improve healthcare services at Rajmata Jijau Hospital in Airoli, aiming to enhance patient care and streamline medical facilities. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, during a recent inspection, reviewed the hospital’s infrastructure and directed key improvements to ensure quality treatment and convenience for patients and their families.
Dr. Shinde emphasized the need for advanced diagnostic facilities, recommending the installation of a portable X-ray and sonography machine in the accident department. He also instructed officials to expand the pharmacist’s store by increasing storage racks and to utilize empty wall spaces on all floors for extensive and visually appealing health awareness campaigns.
“Ensuring that patients and their families do not face any inconvenience is our top priority. Under the Prescription-Free Scheme, medicines will be provided directly from the hospital, and the quality of food given to patients will be closely monitored,” Dr. Shinde stated.
The Commissioner also stressed the urgency of operationalizing a blood bank and a breast milk bank at the hospital. Additionally, he directed that the hospital’s cafeteria remain open at night to cater to the needs of patients and their families while maintaining food hygiene and quality standards.
To encourage early detection of diseases, Dr. Shinde ordered the installation of a cancer screening desk, along with promotional campaigns to raise awareness among women. He also instructed hospital authorities to digitize the reporting board to streamline information access.
