Rajasthan Govt Identifies 900 Illegal Bangladeshis And Rohingyas Living With Forged Documents; Detained In 24 Centres For Deportation

Under the campaign against illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, the Rajasthan government has identified 900 such immigrants who were living with forged documents in various districts of the state.

Jaipur: Under the campaign against illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, the Rajasthan government has identified 900 such immigrants who were living with forged documents in various districts of the state.

The officials said that the identified illegal immigrants have been detained in 24 detention centers in different districts of the state and will be sent to West Bengal to deport to their respective countries after the clearance from the central government.

The identified illegal immigrants includes 341 children also along with 284 women and 376 men. The women were found working as maids in homes while men were doing jobs like scrap dealers, laborers in brick kilns and mines, garbage pickers or masonry workers. Criminal records of some of these detained immigrants have also come to light.

The districts where the most of the such Bangladeshis and Rohingyas were found are Sikar, Jaipur, Alwar, Kotputli and Bhiwadi.

The state government had deported 148 such illegal immigrants on May 15th. “Special task forces have been formed in all districts to identify such immigrants who are living here with forged or no documents. More than 900 such people have been identified in 14 districts of the state. They have been kept in detention centers, and we are in the process to deporting them,” said a senior official associated with the campaign.

Notably, the campaign was launched on April 30th the Rajasthan government started after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
