Navi Mumbai News: Panvel Civic Body Holds Eco-Friendly Ganesh Idol Workshop For Engineering Students
The initiative,is part of the civic body’s ongoing campaign ‘Celebrating Ganaraya, Protecting the Environment’. Officials said the workshop aimed to encourage households to involve children in crafting their own idols, thereby fostering both creativity and environmental responsibility.

In a bid to promote eco-friendly celebrations ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Panvel Municipal Corporation on Tuesday organised a workshop on making shadu clay Ganesh idols for students of Pillai College of Engineering.
The initiative,is part of the civic body’s ongoing campaign ‘Celebrating Ganaraya, Protecting the Environment’. Officials said the workshop aimed to encourage households to involve children in crafting their own idols, thereby fostering both creativity and environmental responsibility.
Deputy Commissioner Swaroop Kharge, whosaid the effort was aimed at passing on a “rich heritage to future generations” while reducing the ecological impact of the festival.
The event saw active participation from Environment Officer Manoj Chavan, Principal Dr. Sandeep Joshi, NSS Programme Officer Dr. Archana Ingole, Professor Vinayak Suryavanshi, and Professor Durga Rao.
