The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has planned major festivities to mark the 750th birth anniversary of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj. The birth anniversary of the saint is to be held on August 15 with a palkhi-style dindi procession and a devotional music programme, “Bhaktirang,” at its CBD Belapur headquarters.

Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has planned major festivities to mark the 750th birth anniversary of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj.

The birth anniversary of the saint is to be held on August 15 with a palkhi-style dindi procession and a devotional music programme, “Bhaktirang,” at its CBD Belapur headquarters.

Palkhi-Style Dindi Procession to Begin at Palm Beach Road

Corporation has stated that the celebrations will begin at 4 p.m. with a procession starting from the mural wall featuring verses from Sant Dnyaneshwar’s Pasaydan on Palm Beach Road and proceeding to the NMMC headquarters via the service road.

Devotional Music Programme ‘Bhaktirang’ at NMMC Headquarters

The festivities will conclude at the amphitheatre, where at 5 p.m., “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” winner and renowned singer Mangesh Borgavkar, along with his troupe, will present a special performance of abhangs and devotional songs.

NMMC has also urged social, cultural, and educational institutions to organise similar events in their areas. Citizens have been invited to attend in large numbers to pay tribute to the revered saint and participate in the celebrations.
