Navi Mumbai News: NMMC Partially Demolishes Unauthorised Structure In Airoli's Sector 4 After Owner Ignores Notice
The Encroachment Department of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) carried out a partial demolition of unauthorized construction in Airoli after the concerned party failed to act on official notices.

Navi Mumbai: The Encroachment Department of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) carried out a partial demolition of unauthorized construction in Airoli after the concerned party failed to act on official notices.
The action was taken as per the directives of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, with guidance from Additional Commissioner Dr. Rahul Gethe and Deputy Commissioner (Encroachment) Bhagwat Doiphode.
The demolition targeted an illegal structure at H-54, Sector 4, Airoli, owned by H.M. Surve. “The construction had been carried out without obtaining any permission from the municipal authorities. A prior notice under Section 54 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, had been issued by the Airoli ward office, instructing the owner to remove the structure voluntarily,” a NMMC official said.

Upon failure to comply, the NMMC initiated a demolition drive and removed a portion of the unauthorized construction. The operation was conducted by Assistant Commissioner and Airoli Ward Officer Sunil Kathole, Junior Engineer Mr. Sandeep Mhatre, and other municipal staff from the G Division. The encroachment police team also supported the action, using equipment such as one gas cutter, two hammers, and eight laborers.
NMMC officials have stated that similar operations will continue in the future to tackle unauthorized developments across the city.
