In a strong display of public dissatisfaction over persistent civic issues in Ghansoli, a massive ‘Thaalinaad Morcha’ (protest involving banging of plates) was organized on Tuesday at the Ghansoli divisional ward office by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).

The protest aimed to highlight long-standing problems including poor infrastructure, contaminated and insufficient water supply, broken roads and footpaths, unauthorized constructions, unmanaged garbage, and a dangerously polluted nullah (drain). The morcha drew hundreds of participants including residents, senior citizens, women, and local activists, who marched from D-Mart to the ward office via Dagdu Chougule Patil Chowk.

Protesters Warned of Intensified Agitation if Public Grievances Continue to Be Ignored

Photographic evidence were presented of overflowing garbage bins, damaged footpaths, and broken public infrastructure. They voiced anger over encroachments, deteriorating roads, unsafe water supply, and poorly maintained public parks with broken equipment and lack of drinking water facilities. Residents also expressed concern about rising cases of dengue and malaria due to inadequate fumigation and sanitation measures.

Demonstrators accused the local civic administration of failing to act on complaints and ignoring the public’s plight. They demanded immediate corrective measures and warned that if the issues remain unresolved, the agitation will intensify.

The protest saw participation from various MNS wings including the Movie Army,

Youth Wing, Employment Wing, and Social Welfare Wing, along with numerous local citizens and activists.
