Navi Mumbai: In a disturbing incident, a 23-year-old man has been arrested for raping a doctor and sharing private videos of the incident on social media. The accused, Anand Gatey, a resident of Pune, was arrested by the Kharghar Police, Senior Inspector Ajay Kamble confirmed.
According to the FIR, the 28-year-old doctor filed the complaint against Gatey, whom she had met through social media in April last year, as reported by The Times of India. They later met in Kharghar, where he allegedly spiked her soft drink and took her to a lodge in Satara. There, he raped her and recorded the act on his phone.

Following the incident, Gatey reportedly began threatening the victim and demanding sexual favours, warning that he would leak the video online. When she refused, he allegedly uploaded the video on social media. The doctor then approached the police and filed a complaint against the Gatey.

In a separate news story about a crime in Mumbai, a 26-year-old man allegedly attempted to kill his fiancée after she refused to marry him. This shocking incident occurred on Monday afternoon in the Dharavi area of Mumbai.
According to police reports, the victim, a 22-year-old woman who works as a salesgirl at a local clothing store near 60 Feet Road in Dharavi, had been in a relationship with the accused, identified as Abdul Shaikh, for over nine years, as reported by the Hindustan Times.

The woman informed the police that Shaikh had recently become addicted to drugs. On the day of the incident, he reportedly saw her talking to another man. Enraged, he confronted her at her workplace, where the altercation escalated into violence.
