Mumbai: In a tragic road accident, a 39-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a speeding bike while crossing the road near SNDT College in Santacruz West. The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Lakhan Shah, who was attempting to cross the road on foot when the incident occurred.
The incident took place on Saturday. As per initial reports, Ganesh Shah was walking across the road when a speeding motorcycle struck him head-on. The impact was so severe that he was thrown several feet away and sustained critical injuries, as reported by ABP Majha. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries before receiving medical treatment.

The bike rider, identified as Kinan Miskita, a 21-year-old resident of Juhu Koliwada, was arrested by the Santacruz police. A case of culpable homicide has been registered against him, as reported. Following the incident, police quickly examined CCTV footage from the area, which captured the accident. Using this evidence, the authorities traced and arrested the accused from his residence in Juhu Koliwada.
Reckless Rickshaw Driver Kills One, Injures Three in Vikhroli Accident
In a separate news story related to the accident, a 66-year-old rickshaw driver, Jallindar Bhimaji Dongre, allegedly drove recklessly, causing two consecutive accidents that left one man dead and three others injured in Tagore Nagar, Vikhroli East.
Dongre, a resident of Varsha Nagar, Vikhroli West, has been booked by Vikhroli Police under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act.
The first accident occurred around 6 PM on August 2 at Bindu Madhav Thackeray Chowk on the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR). Dongre, driving a rickshaw MH 03 CN 2014, hit Manoj Kumar Pandari Goud (28), who was standing at the signal. Police Head Constable Jyoti Ramesh Gite, who witnessed the incident, immediately rushed Goud to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Hospital in the same rickshaw.
However, on the way to the hospital, Dongre allegedly continued driving recklessly and hit three pedestrians near Prakash Backweight Hall. The injured, Radhamohan Vishwanath Panigrahi, Saibani Panigrahi, and Chandradevi Verma, sustained minor injuries to the head and limbs.
