Mumbai Tragedy: Father And Son Drown While Catching Crabs At Harichi Bawdi Lake In Kandivali East

According to Kurar police, the duo had gone to the lake to catch crabs. While catching crabs, the boy slipped into the water and began to drown. His father jumped in to save him, but also drowned.

Mumbai News: Father And Son Drown While Catching Crabs At Harichi Bawdi Lake In Kandivali East | Representational Image

A father and son drowned in the lake at Harichi Bawdi, Ramgad, Boisar Nala, Kandivali East, around 12.30pm on Saturday. The deceased have been identified as Eknath Patil, 50, and his 12-year-old son, Vaishnav Patil, residents of Jai Bajrang Chawl, Kranti Nagar, Kandivali East.

According to Kurar police, the duo had gone to the lake to catch crabs. While catching crabs, the boy slipped into the water and began to drown. His father jumped in to save him, but also drowned.

The forest guard informed that the victims' bodies were retrieved from the lake with the help of the fire brigade. Their bodies were sent to Shatabdi Hospital, Kandivali West, in an ambulance. A bag of crabs was found on the shore of the lake.

There is no suspicion of foul play, and no complaint has been filed. The police have registered an accidental death report.
