Mumbai Tragedy: 28-Year-Old Man Drowns While Rescuing Minor Girl From Ghatkopar Drain; Locals Blame Delay In Fire Brigade Response
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when the young girl, a resident of Pant Nagar, was playing near her home with other children. During the game, a ball rolled into a large and deep drain located behind Joy Max School. While attempting to retrieve the ball, the girl lost her balance and fell into the drain.

Mumbai: In a tragic incident at Ghatkopar’s Pant Nagar area, a 28-year-old youth drowned while trying to rescue an 8-year-old girl who had fallen into a deep drain. Pant Nagar have registered ADR Case.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when the young girl, a resident of Pant Nagar, was playing near her home with other children. During the game, a ball rolled into a large and deep drain located behind Joy Max School. While attempting to retrieve the ball, the girl lost her balance and fell into the drain.
Hearing her cries for help, Shehzad Khan (28), who happened to be passing by, immediately jumped into the drain to save her. He successfully managed to rescue the girl and bring her to safety. However, he himself drowned in the process.
