Mumbai Police Returns 176 Recovered Stolen And Missing Mobile Phones To Owners In Zone 1 Special Drive
Under the guidance of the Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, a special campaign was conducted between July 1 and August 10, 2025, by DCP Zone 1 to trace and recover stolen and missing mobile phones. The drive covered police stations under Zone 1 jurisdiction, including Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Marine Drive, Azad Maidan, MRA Marg, Dongri, and Sir J.J. Marg.

Mumbai: Under the guidance of the Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, a special campaign was conducted between July 1 and August 10, 2025, by DCP Zone 1 to trace and recover stolen and missing mobile phones. The drive covered police stations under Zone 1 jurisdiction, including Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Marine Drive, Azad Maidan, MRA Marg, Dongri, and Sir J.J. Marg.
Technical Tracing Success
During the campaign, detection officers and staff from these police stations, using information from the CEIR portal and technical investigations, recovered a total of 176 mobile phones that had been either stolen or reported missing. These devices were traced not only from within Mumbai city but also from different states across India.
Mobile Handover Ceremony
To return the recovered devices to their rightful owners, a mobile phone handover ceremony was organised on August 13, 2025, at Prerna Hall, Azad Maidan. Out of the 176 owners invited, 122 owners were present and received their phones from DCP Zone 1, Dr. Pravin Munde.
