Mumbai: In a special drive, the Mumbai Police have successfully recovered and returned 347 lost and stolen mobile phones worth approximately Rs 56 lakh to their rightful owners. The operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4), Ragasudha R.

Operation Led by DCP Ragasudha R; Phones Retrieved Across States

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone-4, Mumbai, has successfully concluded a special 15-day campaign from July 20, to August 5, focused on recovering mobile phones that were either stolen or lost. As part of this initiative, dedicated teams were formed at each police station within the Zone.

The proactive special 15-day campaign, which ran from July 20, to August 5, was spearheaded by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone-4, and involved dedicated teams from each police station in the region.

347 Phones Traced from 2022–2025 Using Technical Methods

These teams compiled a list of stolen and lost mobile phones from 2022 to 2025 and utilized technical methods to trace them. This led to police teams being sent to various locations across Mumbai, Maharashtra, and other states to retrieve the devices.

The campaign has resulted in the recovery of a total of 347 mobile phones, broken down by year as follows: 2022: 85 phones, 2023: 34 phones, 2024: 66 phones and 2025: 164 phones. The total value of the recovered phones is estimated to be Rs 56,30,895.

Recovered Devices Returned in Special Ceremony at Sion

To mark the successful conclusion of the operation, a special handover event was held at the North Indian Association in Sion. During the ceremony, Additional Commissioner of Police Vikram Deshmane and DCP Ragasudha R. personally handed over the recovered phones to their original owners.
