Mumbai: The Mumbai Charkop Police arrested Dolly Kotak, an ex-employee of a Bank, for lodging a false rape complaint against her ex-partner, who is an IT professional, on Thursday. Alongside this, she allegedly extorted Rs 1 crore from him in exchange for a ‘No Objection’ statement.

Dolly Kotak, with the assistance of three other colleagues, unlawfully accessed the victim’s private information, threatened his family, caused his imprisonment, and led to his job loss.

A court-directed FIR has named six individuals involved in the case, including her brother, Sagar Kotak, who is currently out on bail in a separate POCSO case, according to the Charkop Police, as reported by news agency IANS.

Mumbai Police Busts High-Profile Sex Racket In Malad Spa; 4 Women Rescued, 2 Arrested

In a separate news story, Malad Police have busted a sex racket that was operating under the cover of a spa in suburban Mumbai. The operation, carried out following a tip-off, led to the arrest of two individuals and the rescue of four women who were allegedly being exploited, as reported by IANS.

According to officials, the illegal business was being run discreetly from what appeared to be a legitimate wellness and relaxation centre. The spa, located in a bustling commercial area of Malad, presented itself as a regular massage and wellness service provider but was allegedly offering sexual services to select clients behind closed doors.

During the raid, four women were found on the premises and were immediately rescued by the team. The rescued women have been sent to a shelter home for rehabilitation and counselling. The Malad Police have launched a deeper investigation to trace others connected to the racket, including possible agents and financiers. The investigation is underway by the authorities.
