Mumbai News: Theft Accused Dies By Suicide In Sahar Police Lock-Up

Mumbai: A 26-year-old man accused in a mobile theft case allegedly died by suicide in the lock-up of Sahar police station on Monday morning. According to police officials, the man, identified as Ankit Rai, reportedly hanged himself using a cloth tied to a pipe in the toilet. His body was sent to JJ Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Interestingly, Ankit had also accompanied them to the police station to lodge the complaint. While three of the stolen phones were recovered during the investigation, Ankit was arrested on Sunday.
Police stated that Ankit was not a habitual offender, and further inquiry into the incident is underway.
