Mumbai News: Nigerian National Held With ₹2 Crore Worth Of Cocaine In Malad; ANC Worli Busts Drug Racket

Mumbai: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) Worli Unit has arrested a Nigerian national from the Malad area of Mumbai for drug trafficking. The accused was found in possession of 200 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately ₹2 crore in the international market. The arrest was made under Sections 8(c) and 21(c) of the NDPS Act, 1985, and Section 14A(b) of the Foreigners Act, 1946.
The ANC team intercepted the suspect in JP Colony, Orlem, Marve Road, Malad, following a tip-off. Upon searching him, the team recovered the cocaine, along with a Honda Civic car worth ₹5 lakh and three mobile phones valued at ₹70,000.
The accused has been identified as 43-year-old Frank Nnendi, who was residing in India without valid travel documents. Police also revealed that he has a prior criminal record. Cocaine is considered a dangerous stimulant narcotic, often associated with severe health and legal consequences.
This operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Navanath Dhawale and Assistant Commissioner Sudhir Hirdekar. The team was led by Senior Inspector Santosh Salunkhe, with Police Sub-Inspector Prakash Sawant and his unit carrying out the arrest. Further investigation is underway.
