The Mumbai Crime Branch has made significant progress in the abduction and extortion case involving notorious drug trafficker Sajid Electricwala, arresting two more accused Arman Mohammed Nasir Khan (33) and Nirav Solanki (54). While Solanki was arrested in Gujarat, Arman Khan was picked up from Oberoi Mall in Goregaon by Crime Branch Unit 3.

Total Arrests Rise to 14

With these two fresh arrests, the total number of individuals apprehended in the case has risen to 14. Of these, 13 have been remanded to judicial custody, while Arman Khan has been remanded to police custody for three days for further questioning.

Arman Khan Linked to Underworld Network

According to police, Arman Khan is a known associate of Sarwar Khan, who is in turn linked to Anwar Babu Sheikh, the brother of fugitive underworld don Chhota Shakeel. Arman has four FIRs registered against him, including two at NM Joshi Marg police station, and was previously involved in a jail altercation at Arthur Road.

Active Role in Kidnapping and Extortion

Investigators have confirmed that Arman Khan played a key role in the kidnapping of the complainant and in the demand for extortion money. His involvement has added weight to the case against the broader gang.

MCOCA Likely to Be Invoked

Given the organised nature of the crime and the involvement of multiple individuals with criminal backgrounds, the Crime Branch has submitted a proposal to invoke MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) against all 14 accused. The investigation remains ongoing.
