Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday conducted a detailed review of 30 major infrastructure projects in Mumbai. During the meeting held in the War Room at Mantralaya, Fadnavis directed officials to ensure that every project is completed within three years of its commencement and is not unnecessarily delayed.
Housing Near Metro Terminals Proposed for Better Connectivity
He also instructed that housing projects should be developed near the terminal stations of all metro lines to ensure better connectivity and optimum use of urban space.
This was Fadnavis’s third review meeting in the War Room since taking charge as Chief Minister. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Chief Economic Advisor Praveen Pardeshi, and Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Secretaries of various departments. Senior officials, Divisional Commissioners, and District Collectors also joined via video conferencing.
In the previous meeting, the CM had reviewed 33 infrastructure projects, during which 135 key points were discussed, and decisions were taken accordingly. In Monday's meeting, departments submitted updates on the implementation of those decisions.
Highlighting the availability of advanced technology, the Chief Minister Fadanvis emphasized the need to complete projects in a shorter time frame. He said all hurdles related to the timely execution of metro and other urban infrastructure projects must be resolved proactively.
Fadnavis also directed that efficient mechanisms be established to ensure smooth execution of metro projects and related infrastructure. Additionally, he instructed officials to release funds for such projects on priority.
Departments Directed to Use CM Dashboard for All Updates
Fadnavis stressed that all project-related data must be updated only on the Chief Minister’s Dashboard to avoid duplication. He said there is no need for separate dashboards by individual departments. He directed that all decisions taken in the War Room be implemented before the next meeting, and if needed, relevant matters should be brought to the Cabinet for approval. Any further obstacles should be immediately reported to the War Room for swift resolution.
