Mumbai: A massive police presence has been deployed in the Parel and Lalbaug areas of Mumbai on Sunday in anticipation of the huge crowd expected to witness the Aagaman (arrival) of the Chinchpokli cha Chintamani later in the day.

The streets have turned into a vibrant sea of yellow, with thousands donning raincoats amid the ongoing Mumbai rains. Authorities have urged commuters and residents to plan their travel accordingly, as large gatherings have already been underway since early morning.

In an official update shared by Mumbai Police on social media, they stated: “Lakhs of people are gathering to double the unity, enthusiasm and joy. Khaki is alert, ready and vigilant to welcome this enthusiasm!”

The event marks one of the major highlights in the lead-up to Ganesh Chaturthi, with devotees flocking in from various parts of the city to witness the grand arrival of the deity. Police personnel in khaki uniforms are stationed in large numbers to ensure crowd control, security, and smooth traffic flow.

As the festive spirit rises, the police remain on high alert, fully prepared to manage the overwhelming crowd with diligence and dedication. Citizens are advised to stay informed about traffic advisories and cooperate with security personnel to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration.

The wait is finally over for thousands of devotees, as the much-awaited arrival (Aagaman) of Chinchpokli cha Chintamani is set to take place today. The Chintamani Mandal has officially announced the venue for the Aagaman celebrations, the Parel Workshop, at the Chintamani Mandap, where preparations are in full swing.

Massive crowds have already begun gathering at the venue since morning, as enthusiastic devotees from across Mumbai arrive to witness the grand procession of one of the city’s most iconic Ganesh idols. As the Aagaman marks the beginning of Ganeshotsav celebrations for many, the atmosphere is charged with excitement, unity, and devotion.
