Mumbai Fire: Major Blaze Erupts In Byculla's 2-Storey Building Near Saat Rasta, 10 Residents Safely Evacuated, No Injuries Reported

A fire broke out in a ground-floor shop at the two-storey building near Saat Rasta in Byculla, on Saturday evening. Around 10 to 12 residents from the upper floors were safely evacuated through the staircase by the officials of Mumbai Fire brigade (MFB). The blaze was brought under control within an hour, and no injuries were reported, confirmed a fire official.

Mumbai: A fire broke out in a ground-floor shop at the two-storey building near Saat Rasta in Byculla, on Saturday evening. Around 10 to 12 residents from the upper floors were safely evacuated through the staircase by the officials of Mumbai Fire brigade (MFB). The blaze was brought under control within an hour, and no injuries were reported, confirmed a fire official.

The blaze erupted around 6:20 PM on Saturday at Musa House, a ground-plus-two-storey building opposite Sant Rohidas Garden in Byculla, according to the BMC’s Disaster Management Cell. Fire engines, along with E Ward officials and local police, rushed to the site for rescue operations.

The fire was confined to electric wiring, a split AC unit, and household furniture on the upper floors, which included tables, chairs, a wooden shrine, dryer machine, foam sheets, and scrap material.

In Shop No. 1 on the ground floor, 5–6 compressors, a LPG cylinder, wooden plywood, a winding machine, and the meter box at the rear of the building were also damaged.

A senior fire official said, "Residents were safely evacuated, fortunately, no injuries were reported. The exact cause of the fire will be determined after investigation."
