Mumbai Crime Branch Nabs Two In 24 Hours, Recovers ₹57.46 Lakh Stolen Jewellery From Meerut Heist
The accused Saurabh Tanaji Sathe (21) and Mohan Maruti Pawar (24) allegedly broke into a jeweller’s shop in Meerut by forcing open the shutter and stealing a large quantity of gold and silver ornaments before fleeing towards Mumbai.

Mumbai: In a swift and coordinated operation, the Mumbai Crime Branch apprehended two suspects within 24 hours of a major jewellery shop burglary in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, recovering the entire stolen property valued at ₹57.46 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off that the suspects were heading to Borivali, Mumbai, a Crime Branch team laid a trap in the area. The operation led to their arrest and the seizure of the stolen haul. Valuation by an authorised jeweller confirmed the recovery as follows: gold ornaments weighing 478.45 grams worth ₹48 lakh, solid silver weighing 3.795 kg worth ₹4.50 lakh, raw silver weighing 8 kg worth ₹4.76 lakh, and ₹20,000 in cash. The total recovery amounts to ₹57.46 lakh.
